PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
Welcome to SDPA's new and improved website. Two-thousand and six has been a banner year for SDPA! Beyond redesigning the website, our other major accomplishments include:
(1) achieving MCLE provider status by the State Bar of California, (2) forging a relationship with The Daily Transcript, which lead to the creation of SDPA's bi-monthly News Notes, and (3) increasing membership by 40%.
Of course, great accomplishments don't come without assistance. SDPA would like to thank Intact Info Solutions for designing our new site and being so accommodating throughout the process. We would also like to thank our sustaining members for allowing us to bring our members such great programs. Without their help this year would not have been such a success. Finally, I'd like to thank the Board for all their hard work. Especially, the members who won't be returning next year; including, David Blackwell, Dena Bielasz, CLA, Luciana Case, CLA, Shakun Nimmo, and Lynne Hansen. As a side note, SDPA board nominations are underway. If you have any time to spare and would like to become more involved with this great organization please let us know.
Finally, as your President, I'd like to have your input on ways SDPA can better serve you. If you have suggestions for MCLEs or other programs you'd like SDPA to provide, please let contact me. The MCLE deadline for both general and substantive areas of law as well as ethics is December 31, 2006. It is imperative that California paralegals maintain these requirements.
